Xiaomi announces release schedule for improved MIUI 12.5 for smartphones outside of China

Xiaomi introduced an improved version of the proprietary MIUI 12.5 Enhanced shell on August 10 , and since then, the Chinese versions of some smartphones have already been able to update. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has remained silent on plans to release MIUI 12.5 Enhanced for the international market so far.

This hasn't stopped fans and enthusiasts from speculating. However, now we can join the official plans in this regard. 

So. Xiaomi announced that the release of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced for global users is "on the way." The first stage of distribution will begin in the fourth quarter of 2021 (October - December). At the first stage, the following models will be able to upgrade to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced:

  • Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra;
  • Xiaomi Mi 11i;
  • Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro;

As many Xiaomi fans know, Chinese firmware are often different from global ones. What does Xiaomi promise for the international MIUI 12.5 Enhanced? According to the developers, this update is based on MIUI 12.5, with the main focus on system optimizations that will provide faster performance and lower power consumption. The following features are noted:

  • Comprehensive optimization from basic infrastructure to high-level applications
  • Even after several months of use, performance remains high, thanks to new mechanisms for working with memory and increased efficiency of drive defragmentation.
  • Distributed memory function. It focuses on "ultra-precise" memory management, which makes the use of RAM more efficient - application memory is shared and unimportant tasks are closed.
  • The new algorithms will dynamically allocate system resources based on usage scenarios to keep devices running smoothly. Core scripts accelerate smoothly, minimizing the impact of apps in the background.
