Android application support will appear on old Huawei laptops

Huawei today unveiled its first notebooks with Android applications. They are the new MateBook 13s and 14s. However, the Huawei Mobile Application Engine, which supports Android applications, will soon be available for previously released laptops. On September 25, Huawei will begin public testing of the Huawei Mobile Application Engine for the following models:

  • MateBook 13 2021
  • MateBook 14 2021
  • MateBook D 14 2020
  • MateBook D 15 2020

The second phase of testing will begin on October 25, and the update will be available for:

  • MateBook X Pro 2020
  • MateBook X Pro 2021
  • MateBook 13 2020
  • MateBook 14 2020
  • MateBook D 14 2021
  • MateBook D 15 2021

As the manufacturer promises, thanks to the Mobile Application Engine, users will be able to work with mobile applications on a laptop in the same way as on a smartphone. You can install the apps you want through the AppGallery online store, and then launch mobile apps and games on your laptop's large screen. Moreover, it supports the launch of several applications in different windows at the same time. It is also possible to install applications directly from the APK in Explorer.
