Huawei surpasses 190 million Nova smartphones sold

At the Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro announcement event, Huawei boasted an important milestone for the entire Nova series. Since the launch of the first Nova smartphones five years ago, the Chinese company has sold over 190 million devices. The first representatives of the mid-range series - Huawei Nova ( review ) and Nova Plus ( review ) debuted in September 2016 at IFA in Berlin.

Note that Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro were the first representatives of the line, on which the proprietary operating system HarmonyOS is installed right out of the box, and not Android with the EMUI shell.

Huawei also announced today that HarmonyOS 2.0 has been installed on over 120 million devices. A proprietary replacement for Android was unveiled by Huawei on June 2, and it's been 91 days since its launch.

The Huawei Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro are already available for pre-order starting at $ 417, with open sales starting on September 29th. In Russia, less than a month ago, sales of the last generation began - Huawei Nova 8, which debuted in China in December 2020.
