Apple announces release date for new Mac OS

Apple today unveiled groundbreaking new MacBook Pro laptops and announced during the presentation the release date for the stable version of its new operating system for computers - macOS Monterey. 

macOS Monterey was announced in June 2021. The OS is still being tested by developers and the public. As it became known now, the release will take place on Monday next week - October 25th. It will be available as a free update for all compatible computers:

  • iMac - Late 2015 and newer
  • Mac Pro - Late 2013 and newer
  • iMac Pro - 2017 and newer
  • Mac mini - Late 2014 and newer
  • MacBook Air - Early 2015 and newer
  • MacBook - Early 2016 and newer
  • MacBook Pro - Early 2015 and newer.  

The new OS offers innovations such as AirPlay to Mac, a redesigned Safari browser with the ability to group tabs and sync them in iCloud between Mac, iPhone, and iPad, FaceTime spatial audio, SharePlay for sharing content.
