EK, which recently released EK-Quantum Velocity² water blocks specifically designed for Intel LGA 1700 processors, announced that the original EK-Quantum Velocity can also be used with the new processors. The base of the water block is large enough to make good contact with the CPU heat spreader. The only part required for installation is the rear panel.
It is available free of charge in the EK online store and will also be available free of charge in the major EK retail partner stores.
The manufacturer makes a reservation that only one LGA 1700 panel is available from the store for free. If the customer needs to update multiple PCs, please contact EK support.
The mounting holes on boards with an LGA 1700 socket are located at the apex of a 78 x 78 mm square, but some boards have double mounting holes that also support 75 x 75 mm. This means that all LGA 115x and LGA 1200 processor cooling solutions are compatible with the new processors. The LGA 1700 back panel will be available for free until May 1, 2022. After that, it will be available for purchase at a symbolic retail price.
