Ikea Vappeby: Bluetooth speaker with Spotify tap seeps through

Ikea is apparently planning a new Bluetooth speaker with Vappeby that will also function as a lamp. In addition, it should integrate Spotify Tap, i.e. offer direct access to the streaming offer via a dedicated button. The first information about the loudspeaker can be seen thanks to data stored at the FCC, which the colleagues from The Verge have unearthed.

Ikea Vappeby is certified according to the IP65 standard, so it should also be able to withstand rain and dust. A 20 lumen (2700K) light source is also integrated so that the Bluetooth speaker can also function as a portable lamp. The shape is somewhat reminiscent of a mushroom. In the overall picture, the battery-operated device could then also be predestined for use in the garden.

The loudspeaker should last about 13 hours on one charge at 50% volume and 50% brightness. The speaker is charged via USB-C. The Vappeby is not part of the Symfonisk series that Ikea developed together with Sonos. Nothing is currently known about the price or release date of the new Bluetooth speaker.
