Apple begins offering the iPhone XR during smartphone repairs

From the end of this week, Apple will begin to give users the iPhone XR as a temporary replacement for the duration of the long-term repair of smartphones. This was reported by the MacRumors resource with reference to an internal message from the company to Apple Stores and authorized service centers.

This program is valid for the United States and several other regions. Until now, Apple has given out the iPhone 8 during long-term repairs. Now, a more modern model, the iPhone XR, will perform the honorary replacement position.

The iPhone 8 debuted in the fall of 2017, making it four years old, which is quite a lot for today's smartphone market. It differs not only in performance but also in appearance - the iPhone 8 is made in the old design with wide bezels and a home button with a built-in fingerprint scanner.

Just at the same time with the iPhone 8, the company presented its first smartphone in a new design with a "bang" - the iPhone X. The iPhone XR model was presented a year later - in 2018.

The iPhone XR will begin shipping as a replacement for extended repairs from November 4 in the regions where the program works. It is available in 26 regions around the world, but, unfortunately, Russia is not included in this list.
