Samsung is preparing Exynos 1280 SoC for entry-level smartphones

Samsung is gearing up to launch a new Exynos SoC for entry-level smartphones. It will be the Exynos 1280, while, despite the number, it will be less productive than the Exynos 1080.

There are no configuration details, but the Exynos 1080 contains four Cortex-A78 cores, four Cortex-A55 cores, and a Mali G78 MP10 GPU.

At the same time, if the Exynos 1080 is practically not found on the market and was used primarily by Vivo, then with the Exynos 1280 the situation may be different. Earlier Samsung has already announced that it intends to increase the share of its own smartphones with its own platforms from the current 20% to 50-60%, so that next year, many more Galaxy devices will rely on Exynos single-chip systems. Including Exynos 1280.

By the why the Ice Universe insider told about the new SoC. He has provided accurate information on Samsung smartphones and image sensors many times, including the recent announcements of new 50MP and 200MP sensors.
