Apple launches a customized AirTag for the Year of the Tiger

At the end of 2021, China, Japan, and South Korea will also usher at the end of the lunar new year. For example, this year’s Lunar New Year is on February 1, and there are 35 days left. Is your partner already waiting for the holiday?

Apple is now announcing that it will launch a new event to celebrate the New Year. The company will provide special events to Japanese users from January 2nd to 3rd: Gift cards will be given to customers when they purchase selected products, and the first 20,000 customers who purchase eligible iPhones will receive a limited edition AirTag specially designed by Apple.

It is reported that 2022 is the Year of the Tiger, so the new limited edition AirTag will be printed with a special and soft "tiger" emoji.

Judging from Apple’s announcement, in order to obtain one of the AirTags, customers must purchase iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini or iPhone SE in Japan on January 2 or January 3 . This seems to be a limited edition AirTag with only 20,000 models. It is not clear whether it will be launched in China and South Korea in the future.

This event includes an Apple gift card of varying amounts, depending on the product you purchased.

  • If you buy an iPhone 12, 12 mini or SE, you will receive a card worth 6,000 yen (approximately RMB 334.2).
  • If you buy AirPods, AirPods Pro, or AirPods Max, you can get a card worth up to 9,000 yen (about 501.3 yuan).
  • In addition, if you buy Apple Watch Series 3 or SE, you can get a card worth 6,000 yen (about 334.2 yuan).
  • Buying Apple’s latest iPad Pro will provide you with a gift card worth 12,000 yen (approximately RMB 668.4).
  • When purchasing select Macs, Apple also offers gift cards up to 24,000 yen (approximately RMB 1336.8).
  • If you buy Apple TV, Beats headphones or other accessories, there are also corresponding gift cards.
