Xiaomi has applied for a patent for the appearance of a foldable mobile phone at the USPTO (the United States Patent and Trademark Office), which is also a left-right folding design, supports a stylus, and seems to be attached to the side of the fuselage magnetically.
It can be seen from the patent picture that there are power and volume buttons on the right side of the phone, while the left side is the space for the stylus. The camera on the side of the large screen seems to be placed below, similar to the original Mi MIX.
According to xiaomiui, Xiaomi’s second folding screen model MIX FOLD 2 appeared in the IMEI database and passed the certification. The model of this phone is "22061218C", or "L18" for short. It can be seen from the name that the phone is expected to be officially launched from June to July 2022.
Display analyst Ross Young said that everyone can look forward to the next Xiaomi folding screen size of 8.1 inches. In addition, it is reported that Samsung Display will supply ultra-thin film glass (UTG) foldable panels to Xiaomi’s second-generation foldable smartphone “Mi MIX FOLD 2”.
Xiaomi has also applied for a device patent from the China National Intellectual Property Association . The design of the mobile phone in the patent is similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Huawei P50 Pocket mobile phone, with a vertical folding design.
