OPPO Find X5 series of Snapdragon 8 Gen1 version confirmed to have self-developed NPU chip

The OPPO Find X5 series will be equipped with the Dimensity 9000 / Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 dual-platform, which is expected to be released in the first half of 2022. Today, the digital blogger @数码闲聊站 broke the news that the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 version of the OPPO Find X5 series is sure to have a self-developed NPU chip, and the Dimensity 9000 version is currently unknown.

OPPO released its first self-developed image-specific NPU chip-Mariana MariSilicon X in December 2021. NPU is good at processing massive multimedia data such as videos and images. It is reported that OPPO's NPU uses TSMC's 6nm process.

OPPO announced that the next-generation Find X flagship series will be launched with Dimensity 9000. This SoC uses TSMC's 4nm process, uses the ARM v9 architecture, and supports LPDDR5X memory.

According to the recent exposure of the Dimensity 9000 engineering machine, the chip's Antutu running score reached 1.02 million points, and the Geekbench 5 multi-threaded score reached 4317 points. Compared with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, it is significantly improved and has lower power consumption.

And @数码闲聊站 said that if the Dimensity 9000 version of Find X5 does not have an NPU chip, it will be somewhat different from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 version in taking pictures.
