Shanghai issued the "14th Five-Year Plan" for the development of the electronic information industry

The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology issued a notice on December 30, 2021, printing and distributing the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan for the Development of Shanghai’s Electronic Information Industry" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan") and the Two special plans for information manufacturing, software, and information service industries.

In terms of frontier emerging fields, the "Plan" pointed out that it focuses on frontier fields, the forward-looking layout of key technology research and development, and consolidates common basic technology development capabilities.

The "Plan" mentioned third-generation semiconductors, 6G communications, quantum computing, meta-universe, new-generation information technology, and new-generation security technologies in frontier emerging fields. This is also the first time that Yuan Universe has been written into the local "14th Five-Year" industrial plan.

• Third-generation semiconductors, to develop key material design and preparation processes to accelerate the replacement of traditional silicon devices such as third-generation semiconductor radio frequency and power devices.
• For 6G communications, we will plan ahead of schedule for 6G network architecture innovation and forward-looking common key technology research, focusing on the development of cutting-edge products for satellite Internet, comprehensive experience, unmanned driving, smart factories, and other applications scenarios.
• Quantum computing, strengthen the research on core technologies such as quantum algorithms, software, materials, devices, and measurement and control, advance the deployment of spintronics, quantum chips, two-dimensional materials, and other post-CMOS cutting-edge basic research, promote the development of quantum computers, and cultivate the industrial ecology.
• Metaverse strengthens the forward-looking research and development of the underlying core technology and basic capabilities of Metaverse, promotes the development of new terminals that deepen the perception and interaction and the construction of systematic virtual content, and explores industry applications.
• The new generation of information technology fusion applications, focusing on artificial intelligence + big data, cloud computing + edge computing, 5G + extended reality, blockchain + quantum technology, cloud edge-to-end collaboration, digital twin + data center, etc., to promote technological collaborative research, Standards and specifications formulation, platform construction, application innovation, etc.
• A new generation of security technology, focusing on next-generation communication security, data security, cloud computing security, and other fields, carry out core technology research and industrial application innovations such as mimic defense, trusted computing, zero-trust security, quantum security, and security intelligent orchestration.
