According to a source citing an informant known in China under the nickname Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is already testing a new version of the smartphone with the code designation l2s, and it is built on the Qualcomm SM8475 SoC.
Under the internal designation l2, Xiaomi 12 Pro passes, and SM8475 should officially debut under the name Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. So the company is already testing a version of its flagship on Qualcomm's new top-end platform. Competing with the Dimensity 9000 is rumored to be forcing Qualcomm to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 earlier than usual by May. However, the flagships on this SoC are expected only in the second half of the year - by the end of the summer.
