The mass-produced model of Jidu will be unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November

Baidu revealed that its smart car brand Jidu’s first concept car for a car robot will be released at the Beijing Auto Show in April this year, and the mass-produced model will be unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November and will be launched in 2023.

Jidu is an automotive robot startup company initiated by Baidu Group and invested by Geely Group. The company was established in March 2021, with Xia Yiping as CEO, Jidu is committed to creating a revolutionary car robot with emotion and intelligence, giving people more space and time, and realizing more possibilities.

Judging from the previous warm-up information, Jidu's first mass-produced model will be equipped with NVIDIA's DRIVE Orin SoC (system-on-chip).

According to reports, the mass-produced model will become an automotive robot capable of L4-level autonomous driving. At the same time, the concept car of the product is expected to be officially unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April this year.

At Baidu Create 2021 (Baidu AI Developer Conference) held on December 27, 2021, Baidu founder, chairman, and CEO Li Yanhong said that Jidu's automotive robots run through "free movement, natural communication, and self-growth" Three product concepts.

• First, the car robot has L4-level autonomous driving capability and can move freely.
• Second, the precise recognition of human-vehicle interaction and speech semantics enables vehicles and humans to "naturally communicate", understand user emotions, and respond to user needs in real-time.
• Third, car robots can learn and iterate themselves according to the user's usage habits and continuously optimize the experience of autonomous driving and smart cockpits to achieve "self-growth".

Among them, "free movement" is the L4 level automatic driving capability, which is supported by the integrated intelligent driving system. Jidu intelligent driving system is provided by Baidu autonomous driving computing platform and NVIDIA DRIVE Orin to provide hardware and computing power, and software and algorithms are jointly developed by Jidu and Baidu.

Up to now, Baidu has 13,000 AI patents, 3,400 intelligent driving patents, and a cumulative autonomous driving test mileage of 21 million kilometers.
