MSI Z690 Motherboard Releases New BIOS

Last night, Intel officially released the i9-12900KS processor, 16 cores 24 threads, up to 5.5GHz, priced at 5699 yuan. MSI said that the current MSI 600 series motherboards natively support the i9-12900KS processor, but if you want to unleash higher performance, MSI also provides a dedicated BIOS for this processor, which has been rolled out to some Z690 motherboards and will be open in the future. Give more 600 series motherboards.

IT House learned that the i9-12900KS supports Intel Thermal Velocity Boost technology and uses Intel Adaptive Boost technology (Intel ABT), with a turbo frequency of up to 5.5GHz. This processor has 16 cores (8 performance cores and 8 energy efficiency cores) and 24 threads, a maximum turbo frequency of up to 5.5GHz, 150W base power, and a 30MB Intel Smart Cache.

Key features and functions of the i9-12900KS include:

  • By using Intel Thermal Velocity Boost, the maximum turbo frequency up to 5.5GHz can be achieved.
  • Intel Adaptive Boost technology improves gaming performance by allowing higher multi-core turbo frequencies in time.
  • Has 16 cores (8 performance cores and 8 energy efficiency cores), 24 threads, 150W processor base power, 30MB Intel Smart Cache, and supports PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0.
  • Supports a wide range of memory specifications, including DDR5 4800MT/s and DDR4 3200MT/s.
  • The chipset is compatible with existing Z690 motherboards
