Chinese domestic smartphone sales fell 21.6% year-on-year in April

CINNO Research released a report saying that in April 2022, the sales volume of smartphones in the domestic market was 17.6 million units, down 21.6% from the same period last year and 12.2% month-on-month. The monthly sales hit a record high in 2020. The second-worst single-month performance since the epidemic in 2019, only higher than the level in February 2020.

The report pointed out that Apple bucked the trend and regained the sales champion. The sales volume fell by only 2.2% month-on-month and 3.5% year -on-year . The only brand experienced the least month-on-year decline year-on-year. Its three models of the iPhone 13 series still firmly occupy the Top 10 list in April. the top three.

According to CINNO Research, OPPO saw the biggest year-on-year decline in sales in April, reaching 42.7%, while vivo was also close to 40%, and Xiaomi also reached 32% . Honor achieved positive year-on-year growth due to its low sales base last year.

The report said that the sales of Android camp brands in April fell 24.6% year -on-year , which was higher than the average level, while Apple's sales fell 3.5% year -on-year . In addition, Honor has 4 products on the list in April, ranking 4th, 5th, 6th and 10th. However, Honor's April sales also fell by about 15.4% month-on-month , basically at the same level as other brands.

CINNO Research predicts that the domestic smartphone market sales will decline by 7-8% year-on-year in 2022 .
