SteamOS 3.0 folk magic revision is online

As early as early March, Valve released a recovery image of SteamOS 3.0 for Steam Deck handheld users. However, this image cannot be installed directly on other PC hardware.

Recently, a folk god released the modified version of SteamOS 3.0 HoloISO on GitHub, and its first beta version Ground Zero has been launched and is open to everyone for free download.

HoloISO has made some modifications to SteamOS 3.0, canceling the A/B partition for system updates, and users need to update the system in the way of standard Arch commands.

Second, SteamOS 3.0 uses a technology called Gamescope, which only works with AMD GPUs, and thus supports FSR at the system level, so HoloISO doesn't work with Nvidia graphics cards.

Finally, HoloISO has enabled two Arch repo unique to Valve, Holo, and Jupiter, to achieve a software-level experience similar to SteamOS 3.0.

At present, HoloISO has been generally used normally, including OOBE, the same UI of Steam Deck, global FSR, etc. However, there will be some bugs in the first beta version. Interested people can click here to view the GitHub page.
