Apple iPad mini 6 introduces a new policy

Apple is introducing a new policy for the iPad mini 6 that allows customers to replace the battery without replacing the device.

Previously, Apple Retail Stores, Apple Authorized Service Providers, and Repair Centers would offer replacement devices to iPad customers who wanted to replace the battery, rather than simply replace the battery in the original iPad. From now on, for Apple Authorized Repair Centers, iPad mini 6 customers who are eligible will be able to replace only the battery inside, not the entire unit.

Apple's new policy only applies to the iPad mini 6, but other iPads may follow in the coming weeks and months. Depending on individual circumstances, the new policy may be detrimental to some customers. Previously, customers would get brand new replacement equipment so any dents, cracks, or wear would be dealt with.

Apple's new policy means iPad mini 6 users will only have to replace the battery and not fix any other minor flaws or damage to the device. As of now, this new policy is only enforced at repair centers worldwide, not at Apple Retail Stores or Authorized Service Providers.
