He Yaqiong, director of the Consumer Goods Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that the household appliance industry plays an important role in meeting people's needs for a better life, promoting the domestic consumer market, and stimulating industrial economic growth. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology actively fulfills the management responsibilities of the household appliance industry, and mainly carries out five aspects of work.
One is to promote optimization and upgrading. Carry out the technological transformation of home appliance production lines, guide enterprises to focus on developing smart and green home appliance products, and cultivate 11 characteristic industrial clusters.
The second is to strengthen brand building. Establish an evaluation index system for self-owned brands in the home appliance industry, and carry out a brand evaluation in key categories such as refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners. A number of well-known home appliance brands have strong international influence.
The third is to improve the innovation system. Promote the establishment of a national high-end intelligent household appliance innovation center, and promote the research and development of key common technologies, industry-university-research cooperation, and the industrialization of innovation achievements.
The fourth is to speed up the stabilization and strengthening of the chain. Carry out the action of stabilizing and strengthening the supply chain of the household appliance industry chain and supply chain, compiling a map of the industry chain of key household appliances, and improving the stability of the supply chain of the industry chain.
Fifth, promote the consumption of household appliances. Guide home appliance enterprises to actively participate in "home appliances to the countryside" and "trade-in", and cooperate with the organization to carry out activities such as the "Double Product Online Shopping Festival" and "Online New Year's Goods Festival" to promote upgraded consumption of home appliances.
According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in 2021, the operating income of enterprises above the designated size in the industry will be 1.7 trillion yuan and the total profit will be 121.9 billion yuan, up 15.5% and 4.5% year-on-year respectively; the industry's exports will exceed 100 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of more than 20%, and the products sell well all over the world. In more than 160 countries and regions, it serves more than 2 billion household users worldwide, and the output of major products such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and washing machines accounts for more than 50% of the world's total.
The next step of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will be to make efforts on both sides of supply and demand to drive home appliance consumption with high-quality supply. One is to guide enterprises to actively develop green smart home appliances and other products. Promote new models such as personalized customization and flexible production to meet the diversified needs of consumers. The second is to promote the construction of the home appliance standard system, advocate the concept of green consumption, and promote the renewal and consumption of home appliances. The third is to cultivate a number of intelligent manufacturing demonstration factories in the field of home appliances, build a number of well-known brands, promote a number of high-quality enterprises and new products, and boost consumer confidence in home appliances.
