The scale of Shanghai's integrated circuit industry reaches 250 billion yuan

The Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China Publicity Office held the first press conference of the special series of press conferences of the party committee on "Forging a New Journey and Contributing to a New Era" today.

Today's first press conference was themed on "Strengthening the Leading of High-end Industries and Building a New Industrial System". Wu Jincheng, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Economic Informatization Work Party Committee and Director of the Municipal Economic Informatization Commission delivered a speech at the meeting.

He said that in the past ten years, Shanghai's key industries such as electronic information, life and health, automobiles, high-end equipment, advanced materials, and fashion consumer goods have accelerated the production value, varieties, and effects to achieve cluster development. In 2021, the six key industries will be The total industrial output value exceeded 2.87 trillion yuan. Electronic information, promote the development of new displays, smart sensors, the Internet of Things, and other fields, improve the technical level of core links and the added value of products, and a number of products such as 8K ultra-high-definition chips, smart cockpits, and 5G communication modules have reached the international leading level.

He revealed that the integrated circuit field has achieved mass production of 14nm process, 90nm lithography machine, 5nm etching machine, 12-inch large silicon wafer, domestic CPU, 5G chip, etc. have achieved breakthroughs. In addition, the scale of the integrated circuit industry in Shanghai has reached 2,500 100 million yuan, accounting for about 25% of the national total, attracting 40% of the country's integrated circuit talents.

SMIC's first-generation FinFET 14nm process completed mass production as early as the fourth quarter of 2019, and the second-generation FinFET N+1 process was planned to achieve mass production by the end of 2021, and it has finally been confirmed. Of course, 14nm here does not refer to de-beautified products.

According to information released by SMIC, compared with the existing 14nm process, the N+1 process has a 20% increase in performance, a 57% reduction in power consumption, a 63% reduction in logic area, and a 55% reduction in SoC area, which is close to TSMC's 8nm process. , the subsequent N+2 process performance and cost will be higher.

In addition, Wu Jincheng said that Shanghai focuses on green and low-carbon, focusing on "six modernizations" such as energy cleanup, low-carbon raw materials, material functionalization, process efficiency, terminal electrification and resource recycling, and promotes "new technologies, new processes, and new materials". , new equipment, and new energy”, and accelerate the cultivation of green enterprises, zero-carbon demonstration factories, and green industrial chains. By 2025, the industrial scale will reach 500 billion yuan.
