Tong Wen said that 5G is booming around the world, with a maximum of 40 5G sites per 10,000 population. In China, 5G has been applied to more than 30 vertical industries, and the total economic volume directly driven by 5G will reach 1.3 trillion US dollars in 2021. In order to meet the new requirements for 5G from to C new services and to B industry applications, 5G will continue to innovate towards 5.5G and achieve continuous enhancement of eMBB / URLLC / mMTC capabilities.
In order to realize the 5.5G network of "downlink 10Gbps and uplink 1Gbps", on the one hand, on the basis of the existing nearly 100MHz FDD frequency band and nearly 100MHz TDD frequency band, introduce a larger bandwidth 6GHz to provide 200MHz-400MHz spectrum, and introduce millimeter wave to provide 800MHz spectrum, making it possible to experience 10Gbps anytime, anywhere. On the other hand, it is necessary to make full use of the existing FDD spectrum, define the full uplink spectrum, realize multi-frequency fusion through uplink and downlink decoupling, and provide a 1Gbps uplink rate.
