ASML Holding NV, a key equipment supplier to the computer chip maker, reported better-than-expected third-quarter sales and profit on Wednesday, and new net bookings also set a record.
ASML reported third-quarter net sales of 5.8 billion euros (approximately 41.122 billion yuan), a gross profit margin of 51.8%, and a net income of 1.7 billion euros (approximately 12.053 billion yuan); quarterly net bookings in the third quarter hit a record high. A record 8.9 billion euros (about 63.101 billion yuan); sales in 2022 are expected to be about 21 billion euros (about 148.89 billion yuan).
Analysts surveyed by Refinitiv estimated that ASML's third-quarter net profit was 1.42 billion euros (about 10.068 billion yuan) and sales were 5.41 billion euros (about 38.357 billion yuan).
In the second quarter of 2022, ASML's revenue was 1.7 billion euros (about 12.053 billion yuan) and sales were 5.78 billion euros (about 40.98 billion yuan).
Performance outlook: ASML expects net sales in the fourth quarter of 2022 to be between 6.1 billion euros (about 43.249 billion yuan) to 6.6 billion euros (about 46.794 billion yuan), and the fourth quarter of 2021. It was 4.98 billion euros (about 35.308 billion yuan), and the gross profit margin was about 49%.
The value of fast shipments in 2022 has resulted in a delay in revenue recognition to 2023, which is expected to be EUR 2.2 billion (approximately RMB 15.598 billion).
