China Telecom Reaches 263 Million 5G Package Users in November, Seeing Net Increase of 6.02 Million

China Telecom Corporation Limited recently announced its main operating data for November 2022. The company saw a total of 391 million mobile users in the month, with a net increase of 600,000. This brings the cumulative net increase for the year to 18.65 million.

Among these mobile users, 263 million were 5G package users. This represents a net increase of 6.02 million for the month and a cumulative net increase of 75.14 million for the year.

In addition to mobile users, China Telecom also saw a significant increase in its wired broadband user base. In November, the number of wired broadband users reached 180 million, with a net increase of 920,000 for the month and a cumulative net increase of 10.92 million for the year.

However, the company saw a decrease in its fixed-line subscriber base, with a net decrease of 110,000 for the month and a cumulative net decrease of 1.28 million for the year.

Despite these decreases, China Telecom saw strong financial performance in the third quarter of 2022, with an operating income of 117.624 billion yuan and a year-on-year increase of 7.9%. The company's operating income for the first three quarters was 357.843 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 9.6%. In the third quarter, China Telecom's net profit attributed to the parent company was 6.252 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12%. For the first three quarters, the net profit attributed to the parent company was 24.543 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 5.2%.

China Telecom saw strong growth in its mobile and broadband user bases while experiencing a decline in its fixed-line subscribers. Despite this, the company saw a strong financial performance in the third quarter of the year.
