Customs Seizes 28 Old iPhones Hidden in Motorcycle Battery Warehouse

Shatoujiao Customs, a subsidiary of Shenzhen Customs, seized a case of smuggling in Zhongying Street on February 3. The culprit, a woman, was found hiding 28 old Apple mobile phones in the battery compartment of her motorcycle. The case has been transferred to the customs disposal department.

Suspicious Behaviour Leads to Inspection

On February 3, customs officers at the Chung Ying Street Travel Inspection Hall noticed a woman pushing a motorcycle through the area. They observed her to be nervous and in a hurry, prompting them to conduct an inspection. Upon further inspection, the customs officers discovered the hidden stash of 28 old Apple mobile phones in the battery compartment of her motorcycle.

Legal Consequences of Smuggling

As per Article 7 of the "Regulations on the Implementation of Customs Administrative Punishment of the People's Republic of China," any attempt to evade customs supervision by means of hiding, disguising, concealing, false reporting, or other similar methods when transporting, carrying, or posting prohibited or restricted items is considered a smuggling act. This includes the entry or exit of goods or articles that should be taxed according to law. Smuggling is a punishable offence and will result in legal responsibility.

Customs Disposal Department Takes Over the Case

The case of the woman caught smuggling 28 old iPhones in a motorcycle battery warehouse has been transferred to the customs disposal department. It is now under their jurisdiction to investigate the matter further and take appropriate legal action.
