Pei Yu Evaluates OnePlus 11: A Closer Look

Pei Yu, the co-founder of Nothing and former co-founder of OnePlus, recently evaluated the OnePlus 11. In his video review, Pei Yu shared his insights on the phone's powerful performance, BOM cost, and system.

Powerful Performance

Pei Yu first acknowledged the OnePlus 11's powerful performance. Equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, the phone's performance surpasses that of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chip used in the Nothing Phone (1).

Low-Light Environment

Despite the significant difference in performance, Pei Yu observed that there wasn't much difference between the two phones in low-light environments. This suggests that while the OnePlus 11 offers greater processing power, it may not be as superior as expected in certain lighting conditions.

BOM Cost

Pei Yu also estimated the BOM cost of the OnePlus 11 at $480, which is approximately double the cost of the Nothing Phone (1). This significant price difference could impact the buying decision of potential consumers.

System Needs Further Polishing

According to Pei Yu, the OxygenOS used in the OnePlus 11 needs further "polishing." He felt that the system was relatively bloated, which was different from his experience during his tenure. This critique is essential for the OnePlus team to improve their user interface and user experience.
