Xiaomi to Launch Redmi A2 Mobile Phone with MediaTek Helio G36 Chip

Xiaomi, the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is all set to launch the Redmi A2 mobile phone, which is the successor to the Redmi A1. WinFuture, a German tech website, has exposed the configuration specifications and renderings of the upcoming phone.

Design and Camera

The Redmi A2 will have a similar design to the Redmi A1, with a waterdrop screen and dual rear cameras. The device is expected to be equipped with a 6.52-inch HD+ resolution IPS LCD screen, and will be available in black, blue, and green colors. The rear cameras will have an 8-million pixel main camera and an auxiliary AI camera.

Processor

The major difference between the Redmi A2 and its predecessor is the processor. The Redmi A2 will be powered by MediaTek's newly released Helio G36 chip. This chip adopts a 12nm FinFET process and delivers a peak frequency of 2.2GHz for entry-level gaming smartphones. It also supports up to 8GB of LPDDR4x memory.

The MediaTek Helio G36 chip comes with the MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite game engine, which supports dynamic allocation of CPU, GPU, and memory resources. It can support 50 million pixel camera and 90Hz display, as well as global dual 4G connections. It can also intelligently predict Wi-Fi and LTE concurrency.

Memory and Battery

The Redmi A2 will have 2GB of memory and 32GB of storage, which is expected to be expandable. The device will run on Android 13 (Go version) and will be pre-installed with the operating system. It will be equipped with a 5000mAh battery and support 10W charging through the microUSB port.

Expected Launch Date and Price

The Redmi A2 is expected to be launched in a few weeks, and it is priced at 97 euros, which is currently equivalent to around 711 yuan.
