It seems, however, that some Galaxy M30 users have already started receiving the Pie update a few days early. We at India Today Tech can confirm this as well as our Galaxy M30 review unit has received the Android Pie update too. The OTA update indeed brings Samsung's One UI software with it along with the latest Android security patch.

The M305FDDU1BSEA update is around 1.14GB in size, so it's best to download it over Wi-Fi if you're on a limited mobile data plan. The Android Pie update brings not only One UI features but also the May, 2019 Android security patch. As for the One UI features, the Pie update for the Galaxy M30 (Review) brings a brand new user interface that has been redesigned to make it easy to use the device with one hand. Following the update, you will see interactive keys moved to the bottom half of the display while the top half focuses on content.

One UI also brings a system-wide Night mode, which looks great on the Galaxy M30's AMOLED display. The Galaxy M10 and M20 are also expected to receive Night mode with Android Pie update, but it seems Samsung is yet to start rolling out the OTA update for these devices just yet. In addition to this, the changelog also mentions that users can now reply to messages directly in the notification panel. They can also sort their call history by incoming and outgoing calls.

The Android Pie update brings a lot more features and improvements. The Samsung keyboard gets the new Unicode 11.0 emojis, the camera app gets a new Scene Optimiser and new editing tools have been added to the Gallery, among other things. The Galaxy M30 Android Pie update also brings a performance improvements and better optimisation.

Galaxy M30 users can manually check for the Android Pie update by heading to Settings > Software update. Samsung will likely push out the Android Pie update for the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 in the next few days as well.
