Samsung Galaxy S21 does not support MST for contactless payments in US

There was some confusion during today’s announcement as to whether the Samsung Galaxy S21 series of phones support MST for contactless payments. The technology allowed older Samsung devices to use wireless payments, even on terminals that were not configured with NFC, emulating a magnetic card strip for the reader. Unfortunately for fans of the feature, Samsung is confirming to us that the Galaxy S21 will not have an STD in the US, and this loss of STD will apply to future phones as well.
