Apple today announced the most powerful and advanced iPad Pro ever, with the addition of the M1 chip providing a huge jump in performance, making iPad Pro the fastest device of its kind.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro features the new Liquid Retina XDR display that delivers a superior dynamic range to the device.

Cellular models with 5G technology provide faster wireless connectivity on the go.

To provide users with a professional level of productivity for high-speed accessories, iPad Pro now includes support for Thunderbolt.

In addition, the all-new ultra-wide front camera enables Center Stage, a new feature that automatically keeps users framed for video calling.

The advanced M1 chip increases device performance, providing up to 50 percent faster CPU performance compared to A12Z Bionic.

The eight-core GPU delivers up to 40 percent faster performance.

Dedicated technologies, including a next-generation 16-core Apple Neural Engine, an advanced ISP, unified high-band memory architecture with up to 16GB of memory, two times faster storage, and up to 2TB capacity, make the iPad Pro More capable than ever.

The new Liquid Retina XDR display brings Pro Display XDR's front-end performance to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

The Liquid Retina XDR display is designed with a new mini LED technology that uses more than 10,000 LEDs across the entire back of the screen, and features up to 1,000 nits of brightness and 1,600 nits at peak brightness.

The Liquid Retina XDR display includes other technologies found on the 11-inch iPad Pro, including wide color support for ProMotion, True Tone, and P3, providing a cinematic viewing experience for HDR and Dolby Vision content.

And iPad Pro models in the US support mmWave 5G, allowing the device to reach speeds of up to 4 gigabits per second, and iPad Pro also features eSIM support.

Thunderbolt and USB 4 support make the USB-C port on iPad Pro the fastest and most versatile port ever on iPads, with 4 times more bandwidth for wired connections than the previous iPad Pro.

Thunderbolt supports 10Gbps Ethernet, as well as high-performance accessories, such as: faster external storage and higher-resolution external displays, including 6K Pro Display XDR.

The TrueDepth camera system on iPad Pro features an all-new 12MP Ultra-Wide front camera specially designed for the device, enabling the Center Stage experience.

Center Stage uses a much larger field of view through the M1's new front camera and machine learning capabilities to recognize and keep users centered in the frame.

While users are on the move, Center Stage automatically moves to keep them in the shot, and when others join, the camera detects them as well, smoothly zooming in to fit everyone in view and making sure they're part of the conversation.

ISP and Neural Engine bring more capabilities to the camera system, bringing Smart HDR support for the first time on the iPad Pro.

And in low-light conditions, the ISP and LiDAR Scanner both focus photos and videos to capture details.

You can expect up to 10 hours of battery life for wireless network models, and 9 hours for wireless and cellular network models.
