Nvidia introduces new cards for mining cryptocurrencies

Nvidia Global is working to expand the limits of cryptocurrency mining to include newly manufactured GeForce RTX 3080, RTX 3070, and RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards, after reducing the hash rates of the RTX 3060 for launch in February, and Nvidia has now started naming new cards with ID "Lite Hash Rate" or LHR to inform potential clients that cards will be restricted for mining, The Verge reported. 

Matt Wuebbling, president of GeForce Marketing at Nvidia said, this reduced hash rate applies only to newly manufactured cards with LHR ID and not to cards that have already been purchased. We believe this additional step will make more GeForce cards more affordable for gamers. Everywhere.

The new RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, and RTX 3080 cards will begin shipping later this month, and the LHR ID will be shown in retail product listings and on the box. Performance of already sold GPUs.

While Nvidia tried to do nerf mining with the RTX 3060, the company also mistakenly released a test driver that unlocked hash rates and increased performance, brought back with newer drivers.
