Apple sees record quarterly sales of laptops and tablets in India

Apple recorded strong sales in the first quarter of this year in India, as it recorded its best quarterly sales of laptops and tablets in the region. According to the Canalys report, the company experienced significant sales in the first three months of this year, and the report revealed that the company's total PC sales reached 208 million units, a figure nearly double the sales of the same period the previous year.

Canalys added that the company's growth in India was largely supported by the availability of its official online store. Apple officially launched its official online store in India in the second half of last year. India's total PC sales, including tablets, were up 72 percent year-on-year. This number reached 4 million units between January and March 2021.

The market has seen growth due to the increasing trend of working from home and online education is becoming more and more popular. But Apple said it's MacBook and iPad production is currently facing delays as the world faces a massive shortage of semiconductors.
