Lenovo announces a tablet that works as a portable screen


Lenovo unveiled a number of tablets at Mobile World Congress, including the widely expected 13-inch Yoga Tab. The device has a built-in stainless steel kickstand, which can rotate 180 degrees from the back of the device. This makes it easy to use hands-free and can be placed or hung on the wall.

According to Lenovo, the Yoga Tab 13 can stream video for up to 12 hours on a single charge. It has a 2K low-temperature PolySilicon display, with 400 nits brightness, 100 percent sRGB color gamut, 60Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision HDR support. And with a micro-HDMI to USB cable, you can use the Yoga Tab 13 as a portable secondary display for your laptop or desktop.

There is an 8-megapixel front camera with face unlock support. The Yoga Tab 13 has four JBL speakers, two of which are built into the speaker drum. The tablet has Dolby Atmos support, and thanks to the lower sound chamber, the bass performance reaches 450Hz. A USB-C to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter is also included.

The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 870 platform. It has an 8GB LPDDR5 memory, WiFi 6 support, and a USB-C charging port. Moreover, dual microphones can capture Google Assistant commands, and there is support for Lenovo Precision Pen 2.2.

The device weighs 830 grams. The Yoga Tab 13 (known as Yoga Pad Pro in China) starts at $680 and is supposed to go on sale in July. In addition, Lenovo announced the new Yoga Tab 11, which also has a kickstand, along with an 11-inch 2K IPS touch screen. The device supports Dolby Vision and Atmos and weighs 655 grams.

There is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T processor and it has a UFS memory chip with up to 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 256GB of storage. The Yoga Tab 11 has four speakers, dual microphones, and a video playback time of 15 hours.

In addition, it supports USB-C fast charging and face unlock function. There is an 8-megapixel front camera and another at the back. And you can choose the LTE type of the tablet as well. Yoga Tab 11 starts at $320 and arrives in August.
