Compal and Realtek form a joint venture

Citing industry information, a source recently revealed that Compal Electronics, which manufactures laptops, monitors, tablets, and TVs on ODM terms, including for customers such as Apple, Acer, Lenovo, Dell, Toshiba, Hewlett- Packard and Fujitsu and chip maker Realtek Semiconductor, well known primarily for network controller chips and audio codecs, have formed a joint venture. It's called Starmems Semiconductor.

Although there is no information on the creation of a joint venture, for example, on the website of Realtek Semiconductor, the source has information on what kind of products the joint venture will produce. Initially, Starmems Semiconductor is said to focus on ICs for MEMS microphones used in laptops and fully wireless stereo headphones (TWS).
