The iQOO brand has finally unveiled its flagship smartphone iQOO 8 Pro on August 17th. The novelty is distinguished by its screen for the first time in the industry, a production model that uses Samsung's latest-generation AMOLED E5 panel. For comparison, almost all current flagships are equipped with Samsung E3 AMOLED panels, and Samsung's own smartphone with an E5 screen will only be released next year, it will be the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
And in the iQOO 8 Pro, the E5 matrix is already used. The panel differs from the current LTPO production technology, reduced power consumption, and adjustable frame rate in a wide range (from 1 to 120 Hz) in 1 Hz steps. The diagonal of the screen is 6.78 inches, the resolution is WQHD +. The front camera with a resolution of 16 megapixels is embedded in the center of the screen - the developers did not experiment with the sub-screen camera.
In the main camera, the Sony IMX766 sensor with a resolution of 50 MP is soloing. A 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 sensor is connected to the ultra-wide-angle lens, a third 16-megapixel sensor is connected to a telephoto lens providing 2.5x zoom. An axial stabilizer (Gimball) is provided.
The hardware platform of the smartphone is Snapdragon 888 Plus, RAM is LPDDR5, flash memory is UFS 3.1. A similar platform is used in Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 and Honor Magic3 Pro, which iQOO 8 Pro competes with.
The smartphone received a 4500 mAh battery, which can be charged both wired (120 W) and wirelessly (50 W). There is also reverse wireless charging, its power is 10 watts.
The smartphone received stereo speakers and a CS43131 preamplifier chip, there are two vibration motors and an NFC module. The weight is 202 grams, the case thickness is 9.19 mm.
iQOO 8 Pro is presented in three configurations (prices, for convenience, are given in rubles): 8/256 GB - 57,000 rubles, 12/256 GB - 63,000 rubles, 12/512 GB - 69,000 rubles. Where did 16GB of RAM come from? It's simple: iQOO 8 Pro supports RAM expansion technology by creating a 4 GB virtual drive in flash memory. The smartphone can already be ordered in China.
