Jon Peddie Research: The PC graphics market grew 37% over the year

Experts of the analytical company Jon Peddie Research (JPR) have summed up the results of the second quarter of 2021 in the market of graphics solutions for the PC. According to their calculations, 123 million GPUs were shipped for the quarter, which is 37% more than in the same period last year. Let's clarify that the report includes both discrete solutions and built-in ones with a CPU. By the way, according to JPR, processors were released 42% more than a year ago.

Analysts predict a 3.5% CAGR in total GPU installs between 2020 and 2025, reaching 3.318 billion by the end of the period.

Compared to the previous quarter, the market grew by 3.4%. At the same time, AMD increased shipments by 2.3%, Intel - by 3.6%, and Nvidia - by 3.8%. At the end of the quarter, Intel holds 68.29% of the market, AMD - 16.48%, Nvidia - 15.23%.

If we talk only about discrete GPUs, Nvidia's share is 83%, AMD's share is 17%.
