Compaq announces its imminent return to the market on a new page in the social network Twitter. More specifically, this will happen in the first quarter of 2022.
The American company for the production of personal computers Compaq Computer Corporation was founded in 1982. In 1998, it released more computers than its three closest competitors combined. The company was discontinued in 2002 after it was acquired by HP.
After that, computers under the Compaq brand were produced in the budget category. If Compaq does return to the market, it will be tough. Many strong smartphone manufacturers have entered the PC market right now, including Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi, Redmi, and Realme. Also, don't forget about old strong brands like Acer and Asus.
Recall that in early August, the world was expecting the return of 3dfx Interactive. However, after a loud announcement, 3dfx Interactive's Twitter page was removed. With Compaq, history may well repeat itself.
