Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 will deliver an impressive 20% performance jump

The well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station claims that the next flagship SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon SM8450, to be released under the name Snapdragon 898, will be manufactured using Samsung's 4nm process, which will lead to a 20% increase in performance.

Earlier it was reported that Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 will have a three-cluster architecture. The platform will include a Cortex-X2-based super-core, large Cortex-A710-based cores, and small Cortex-A510-based cores. All of these new developments will run on a 64-bit ARM v9 Pure system.

The Cortex-X2 provides a design improvement of approximately 16% over the Cortex-X1. But after setting up Qualcomm, it was optimized to work even better. However, to find out the real performance of the platform, we should wait for the test results. An insider confirmed that the platform should be very hot.

Xiaomi is expected to be the first company to launch a smartphone on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 mobile platform after it is officially unveiled this December at the Qualcomm Summit.

There will also be a Snapdragon 898+ SoC, expected to be released in the second half of 2022. The source adds that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 will be manufactured by Samsung, while the Snapdragon 898+ will be manufactured by TSMC.

Digital Chat Station was the first to accurately report the specifications and release dates of the Redmi K30, K40, Xiaomi Mi 10, and Mi 11.
