Sales of smartwatches in annual terms grew by 27%

Experts of the analytical company Counterpoint Research have summed up the results of the last quarter in the smartwatch market. According to their calculations, sales of these devices in annual terms increased by 27%.

Apple retained its leadership in the market, although its share decreased from 30.1% in the second quarter of 2020 to 28.0% in the second quarter of 2021. The number of users of Apple smartwatches has exceeded 100 million.

Huawei is in second place, but it has lost ground. If a year ago the Chinese telecommunications giant occupied 13.1% of the market, then in the last quarter its share was equal to 9.3%.

Next comes Samsung. The South Korean manufacturer was able to increase its share over the year from 6.8% to 6.7%.

The top five also include imoo and Garmin, which hold 6.0% and 5.8% of the market, respectively.
