Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra get new features and stop overheating

Samsung Electronics unveiled a new version of the proprietary One UI 3.1.1 shell with the launch of the new Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 foldable smartphones at the August 11 event. The new skin is now available for the flagship Samsung Galaxy S21 series.

The One UI 3.1.1 update has already started rolling out to the Galaxy S21, S21 +, and S21 Ultra. True, so far only in the USA and Canada. The corresponding update is expected to appear in other regions soon.

Firmware numbered G99 * WVLU4AUGQ is slightly over 1 GB in size. It contains several new features. Changes include an improved user interface, a new Bedtime Mode, protection against accidental clicks, and a new Weather app. In addition, animations and pop-up menus now load faster, and there are some improvements to the camera app.

Some Samsung Galaxy S21 users note that smartphones have stopped overheating - at least they heat up noticeably less compared to the previous version of the firmware. Users of the American operator T-Mobile also received a new VoNR function (Voice over New Radio, aka Voice over 5G or Vo5G - a technology for broadcasting voice data in 5G networks).

In addition, the update brings the August 2021 Android security update.
