Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.5-nanometer Exynos W920 is 10 times faster than its predecessor

Samsung has officially unveiled the Exynos W920 5nm SoC. It is at the heart of the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic smartwatches, which will be fully unveiled tomorrow during the big Unpacked event. In the meantime, you can evaluate the parameters of the Exynos W920.

The platform has become much faster than its predecessor Exynos 9110. Thus, the performance of the central processor has increased by 20%, and the graphic one - 10 times! The Exynos W920 uses a combination of an Arm Cortex-A55 CPU and an Arm Mali-G68 GPU.

Exynos W920 supports screens of various resolutions up to qHD (960 x 540 pixels), has an ultra-low power consumption Cortex-M55 core, providing the Always-on Display function. The platform also supports GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and Wear OS software platform, is endowed with an LTE modem, Wi-Fi b / g / n and Bluetooth 5.0 adapters. For the Exynos W920, Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging (FO-PLP) is used: not only the SoC and the power controller are assembled together, but also the LPDDR4 RAM and the eMMC chip. This approach allows you to save space inside the smartwatch case and install larger batteries.
