Samsung today unveiled its latest wearable devices, the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic, at its big Unpacked event. For the company, they became the first in many ways.
For example, these are the first Samsung devices with the Google Wear OS software platform and the One UI Watch shell " with the most intuitive interface in Samsung history ." The new and hardware platform is the 5nm Exynos W920, which was officially unveiled yesterday. This SoC includes a 1.18 GHz dual-core Arm Cortex-A55 CPU, an Arm Mali-G68 GPU, and an energy-efficient Cortex-M55 core that is responsible for the Always-on Display function. We got new items and 50% more RAM - it's 1.5 GB. The built-in flash memory is 16 GB.
The Galaxy Watch4 uses the innovative BioActive sensor and is more compact than the previous ones. This sensor is used to measure pulse, ECG, and bioimpedance analysis (measuring blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation, detecting atrial fibrillation, and, for the first time, determining body composition (BIA sensor)).
Bioimpedance Body Analysis provides a deeper insight into your overall health and fitness. This includes parameters such as skeletal muscle mass, metabolic rate, water content, and body fat percentage. Bioimpedance analysis is easy: just place 2 fingers on the buttons. In about 15 seconds, the sensor will record 2,400 units of data. The matter is not limited to these sensors alone: the watch also has an accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, and light sensor. Of course, there are a lot of training modes, a sleep analyzer, and so on.
The hardware components of Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic are unified. They have the same software and hardware platforms, as well as BioActive sensors, a microphone and speaker, support for Samsung Pay and Google Pay, protection in accordance with IP68 and MIL-STD-810G.
Galaxy Watch4 is available in two formats: 40 and 44 mm. In both cases, a Super AMOLED screen and tempered glass Corning Gorilla Glass DX + are used, but the resolution of the younger model is 396 x 396 pixels, and the older one has 450 x 450 pixels. The Galaxy Watch4 case is made of aluminum. Galaxy Watch4 Classic is slightly larger: they are presented in 42 and 46 mm formats (resolution, respectively, 396 x 396 and 450 x 450 pixels). It uses Gorilla Glass DX protective glass, and the body is made of stainless steel.
The 44 and 46 mm watches have a 361 mAh battery, while the 40 and 42 mm watches have a battery capacity of 247 mAh. The maximum claimed autonomy is 40 hours.

Acceptance of pre-orders will begin on August 11, and real sales on September 10. When pre-ordering one of the versions of the Galaxy Watch4, the user will receive a bonus Samsung EP-P4300 wireless charger, which allows you to charge two devices at the same time (for example, a smartphone and a smartwatch itself).
