Tamron 18-300mm F / 3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) lens introduced

As expected, Tamron introduced the 18-300mm F / 3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) lens, which it announced in July. Looking ahead, let's say that preliminary information about the start of sales and the price has been confirmed. Pre-orders have already started at $ 699, and sales will begin on September 24th.

The lens for APS-C format cameras, according to the manufacturer, is the world's first Sony E mount lens to feature a zoom ratio (the so-called ratio of the longest focal length of a zoom lens to the shortest) of 16.6x. Later, the manufacturer promises to release a variant with a Fujifilm X mount.

Covering a wide range of focal lengths (EGF 27–450 mm), the lens is suitable for a wide range of applications. The ability to shoot with 1: 2 magnification and the presence of an optical stabilizer makes it even more versatile. The advantages of the novelty include the presence in the optical system of three hybrid aspherical elements and four elements with low dispersion, which effectively suppress aberrations. The lens equipped with Image Stabilizer uses the fast and quiet VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) autofocus drive. Also noteworthy is the waterproof design, fluorine coating on the front element, and the presence of a zoom lock.
