The flagship Intel Core i9-12900K CPU may have been spotted for the first time in a test other than an engineering sample.
The processor appeared in the Puget System base, being installed on the Asus ROG STRIX Z690-E Gaming WIFI motherboard. And he showed a good result.
In the overall standings, it bypassed the Core i9-11900K and only slightly fell short of the Ryzen 9 5950X. True, the proximity of all these processors rather indicates poor test optimization for a CPU with a large number of cores. On the other hand, we are talking about a qualifying sample of the Core i9-12900K, and already in this form it is slightly faster than the current Intel flagship.
Recall that the Core i9-12900K contains eight large and eight small cores and will operate at up to 5.3 GHz. The top-end processors in the Alder Lake line are expected to be released at the end of this year.
