TrendForce NAND Flash Manufacturers Revenue Up 10.8% Q2

Analyst firm TrendForce says the NAND flash market has benefited from increased demand for notebook computers and solid-state drives for the data center. According to their calculations, in the second quarter of 2021, the revenue of manufacturers increased by 10.8% compared to the previous quarter. It reached $ 16.4 billion.

In terms of information volume, shipments of NAND flash were up 9% year-on-year, with an average selling price up 7%. TrendForce predicts that NAND flash vendor revenues will rise again this quarter to record highs.

According to analysts, the adoption rate of 4TB and 8TB enterprise SSDs has increased significantly due to the availability of new Intel and AMD server processor platforms.

The market leader is Samsung. Having increased sales by 12.5%, the South Korean manufacturer was able to increase its share from 33.5% to 34.0%. The second place is occupied by Kioxia, whose share decreased from 18.7% to 18.3%. Western Digital is in third place. The share of this company has not changed over the quarter and is 14.7%.
