The Russian company Caviar has presented three luxury models of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro. The new Space Trek collection is dedicated to China's space travel.
Usually, Caviar creates exclusive versions of Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones, but recently Huawei devices have received attention. In the spring of 2021, the company unveiled the Huawei Mate 40 Pro Limited Edition dedicated to the People's Republic of China. The Mate 40 Jade Emire collection was also announced last month. The last collection was completely sold out in just 7 days. This inspired Caviar to create the new Huawei Mate 40 Pro collection.
The flagship model, dubbed the Gold of Fire, received a heavy PVD coating and an intricate volumetric sculpture depicting the Fire Dragon Zhu Zhong, the god of fire and patron of Mars in Chinese mythology. Caviar designers have also placed a precious mechanical tourbillon watch on the back of the Mate 40 Pro.
The mythical dragon is made of durable 18K gold and wrapped around a Leica camera and mechanical watch. The dragon symbolizes the rover exploring the surface of the red planet - a round clock with a red dial points to Mars.
The unique device makes a small fragment of a Martian meteorite, which was found in Morocco in 2011. Caviar will produce only 8 pieces of Gold of Fire. The suggested retail price of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro Limited Edition is $ 28,000.
The second model in Caviar's new Space Trek collection is dedicated to Jan Livei, the first Chinese to go into space. The astronaut boarded the Shenzhou 5 in 2003 and made 14 orbits around the Earth. The device depicts the astronaut Yang Liwei in gold, looking at the Earth from orbit. The reflection on his astronaut helmet shows the planet and the outlines of China. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro, dedicated to the first Chinese astronaut Yang Liwei, will be released in a limited run of 66 pieces.
The third model symbolizes the moon goddess Chang'e. For this model, Caviar designers opted for a titanium base. The moon goddess was engraved and coated with a colored laser. A total of 88 units of this smartphone will be released. The number "8", according to Chinese philosophy, attracts wealth and abundance. The price of this Moon Goddess edition is set at $ 6,900.
