Vivo becomes Asia Pacific's leading 5G smartphone supplier for the first time

According to the latest research from Strategy Analytics, in the second quarter of 2021, Vivo managed to become the leading 5G smartphone supplier in the Asia-Pacific region for the first time. Notably, three of the top five 5G smartphone suppliers in terms of shipments in this region are Chinese companies. 5G smartphone shipments in the Asia-Pacific region have more than doubled over the past year (up 110% to be exact).

Vivo has overtaken Xiaomi, OPPO, and Apple in the past year, taking advantage of the plight of Huawei, which sold more than half of all 5G smartphones in the Asia-Pacific region in the second quarter of last year, but has largely withdrawn from the market under US pressure, analysts said. The combination of cutting-edge technology and affordable prices has made Vivo smartphones like the iQOOO U3 5G and iQOOO 7 5G the most popular 5G devices in the region.
