Xiaomi first flagship smartphone with Snapdragon 898 is now expected in November

According to the latest data, the flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 12 will be presented not in December this year, as previously reported, but in November.

Last year, the Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone was presented in December, so the debut of the Xiaomi Mi 12 was expected in the same month a year later. Now sources are citing November as the time window for the flagship announcement. The information is questionable, given the rumors that the Snapdragon 898 will be presented in December. However, Xiaomi may make an early announcement and release the smartphone later.

It is expected that this smartphone will be the first to receive an SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 898. Earlier, the leader of the company Xiaomi Lei Jun (Lei Jun) said that the proprietary firmware MIUI 13 will officially appear at the end of the year. The company is currently intensively adapting the improved version of MIUI 12.5. Considering the expected launch dates for Mi 12 and MIUI 13, it is logical to assume that the flagship smartphone will run MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition out of the box.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon SM8450 will be manufactured using Samsung's 4nm process, which will result in a 20% increase in performance. Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 will have a three-cluster architecture. The platform will include a Cortex-X2-based super-core, large Cortex-A710-based cores, and small Cortex-A510-based cores.

In addition, the Xiaomi Mi 12 series is expected to feature a Samsung E5 LTPO screen with an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. This will ultimately help reduce the power consumption of the device. The same screens are expected in the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max.

The Xiaomi Mi 12 should support 120W fast wired charging and 100W wireless charging. However, with the introduction of new wireless charging regulations, wireless fast charging above 50W will be banned in China.
