All Huawei MateBook laptops will upgrade to Windows 11 for free

Huawei has officially confirmed that all MateBook laptops will be upgraded to Windows 11. The announcement comes amid the massive transfer of Huawei and Honor smartphones from Android to the HarmonyOS 2.0 proprietary operating system.

The information was published on the official page of the Chinese manufacturing giant on the Weibo social network. Huawei confirms that all MateBook laptops pre-loaded with Windows 10 are eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 11.

The Windows 11 update for Huawei MateBook X, Huawei MateBook B and Huawei MateBook D will be released shortly after Microsoft officially launches Windows 11 worldwide. The launch of the final version of the operating system is scheduled for October 5.

Windows 11 brings a lot of visual changes, widgets, and an all-new Microsoft Store with the ability to run Android apps on the desktop, though users won't have this feature at launch.

Previously, Huawei has published a teaser for the new laptops, which will be able to run Android applications.
