Apple makes two foldable iPhones at once following the example of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip

According to Business Korea, Apple is developing two foldable smartphones expected to arrive in 2023. It seems that Apple is following the path paved by Samsung: there is information that constructive analogues of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip are being prepared for release. The foldable screen can be up to 7.5 inches diagonal. It is not yet known whether Apple will release two models or whether the company is choosing between two form factors. It is expected that the design of the hinge part of Apple smartphones will be more advanced than that of Samsung phones.

Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously announced that it will launch a foldable iPhone with an 8-inch foldable OLED QHD + screen in 2023. SDC Samsung Display will be the exclusive supplier with TPK Chenhong touchscreen solution. He estimates that in 2023, foldable iPhones will ship between 15 and 20 million units.

Ming-Chi Kuo believes the foldable mobile phone market has become a new battleground for major mobile phone brands and is expected to continue to drive the replacement cycle in the high-end mobile phone market. Deliveries in 2021 and 2022 are projected to be approximately 7.5 and 17 million, respectively. The main part will fall on Samsung smartphones.

Apple, as usual, is not in a hurry, but as the example with the adaptation of 5G showed, it has every reason for this. The company was the last to enter the 5G market, but this year it will occupy about 33% of the market, becoming its leader.
