Apple has released a fresh update to its mobile platforms - iOS 14.8 and iPadOS 14.8. Version 14.8, released in September 2020, was the eighth update to iOS 14. iOS 14.8 became available two months after the release of iOS 14.7, which introduced MagSafe Battery Pack support.
As noted in the release note, iOS 14.8 and iPadOS 14.8 contain important security updates and are recommended for all users to install. The Apple Security Support document describes two major fixes that have been implemented. We are talking about vulnerabilities in the CoreGraphics and WebKit frameworks, which allowed executing code using malicious PDF files and web pages, respectively. According to Apple, these vulnerabilities could be actively exploited. The update is free to download. To access, you need to go to Settings> General> Software Update.
